EU Tax Observatory analysis on Australia’s new corporate transparency rules

CICTAR, Public Services International (PSI) and Australian unions have been deeply involved in pushing the Australian government to bring in new and stronger rules to make global corporations in Australia reveal more about their global structures and operations.

New analysis by the EU Tax Observatory looks at how the new regime ‘significantly advances transparency in multinational corporations’ tax practices’.

However, it also identifies potential loopholes and opportunities for improvement, particularly in terms of the geograhical coverage.
