Amazon Shareholders Demand Tech Giant be More Transparent About Global Tax Affairs and Implement Global Standard

A pair of Amazon shareholders have filed a proposal calling on the retail behemoth to be more honest about its tax practices.

Shareholder adviser PIRC said the Greater Manchester Pension Fund (GMPF), which is the UK's biggest local government pension fund, and the Oblate International Pastoral Investment Trust want Amazon to implement the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Tax Standard.
