Corporate tax avoidance. Who helps fund Australia, and who doesn’t?

‘In order to help all Australians take a closer look at corporate tax payments, a coalition of researchers has developed a simple tool so anyone can look at who pays and who does not.’

Michael West Media reports on a new tool developed jointly by CICTAR, Tax Justice Network Australia and The University of Technology Sydney, with support from some of our union partners.

‘As Australia prepares for our upcoming federal election and its impact on future spending and revenue, it is time to put the question of corporate tax, who pays and who doesn’t, back on the kitchen table.’

The data used is directly obtained from ATO disclosures. and would not be available without past campaigning for greater transparency. Since then we have seen Australia launch further, world leading. tax transparency initiatives and, while there is still more to be done, we hope this trend towards full transparency is set to continue!
