Brazil Media Covers New Report From CICTAR And Sindae

The new report from CICTAR and local sanitation union Sindae-BA has received plenty of coverage in the Brazilian media (despite the launch coinciding with the final day of the Bolsonaro trial).

CICTAR lead Researcher, Livi Gerbase is extensively quoted, explaining how a policy of providing generous tax incentives has acted as a ‘driver of privatization’ in the water sector, with little or no improvement in access to services, costs, water quality and workers rights. As Fernando Biron, of Sindae says, the policy has the the aim of “socializing risk and privatizing profit”.

The report is covered in Brasil de Fato, Veja Negócios and ICL Notícias
